Curtis A' Cappella Choir Tour - San Francisco
Early Thursday morning Alex and I woke up in our tent at Curtis High School ready to travel with the A’Cappella Choir to San Francisco, California. We were the last two students to load the bus at 4am. After a 14 hour drive through Washington and Oregon the choir arrived in San Francisco.
Friday April, 20th, the choir spent time in Fisherman’s Warf. No trip to California is complete without a stop at In-and-Out Burger. After I ordered a #2, with a strawberry shake Dani Mo and Danka convinced our group to take a little walk to Union Square, it had something to do with a store called H&M. Before we knew it Dani, Dana, Mini, Brittney, Sean, Kyle, Alex, Gannon, Quinn and I were on our way to Chinatown. We had walked for 20 minutes! Everyone turned back except for Dani, Alex and I, who decided that we had walked far enough and should just continue. But within two blocks we were completely surrounded by the Chinese…kinda scary haha. Little did we know, it was destiny that would bring us to the Panini.
From that moment on, the trip was just a little more interesting. Of course I have to mention our bus driver, Yukon Ron, who had just as much fun as our choir, and we only had to get off the bus one time so the front end could clear the ground. Now, the hotel is a completely different story. With a 10 o’clock curfew we made sure to live up every minute, and I mean every minute!
Saturday was game time. We arrived at the Heritage Festival ready to represent U Peezy with our unrivaled A’Cap, super fly Valhalla Vox, ragnarok Viking 13, and BAMF Val Kyrie 13. I only had one piece of advice for our choir, “If you’re not first, you’re last!” They knew I was serious and so sweeping the competition wasn’t even a big deal.
Back at the hotel everyone was getting some Panini. With another 14 hour bus ride home on Sunday, that’s basically the San Fran story. For more amazing stories make sure you check out Real World – San Francisco.
